100 and 200KN machines are available with servo control only
All the above UTM Models are supplied with different grips and fixtures for carrying out different tests like Tensile, Compression, Flexural, Peel, Bond etc.
Standard grips available are as mentioned below.
- Eccentric roller grip for plastic and rubber dumbbell specimens.
- Mechanical vice action grips
- Self locking Wedge action grips.
- Bobbin type grips for thin wires.
- Pneumatic grips for plastic and rubber dumbells.
- Flexural fixture for three point and four point bending.
- Split roller grips for geotextiles ( wide width)
- Specially designed fixtures for customized testing.
- Extensometer for UTM Machine can measure small to large deformations (usually from 0.001 mm up to ±100 mm or more, depending on model). Gauge lengths vary (e.g., 10 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm, 100 mm). This ensures more accurate stress-strain curves, which are essential for determining material properties like Young’s modulus and yield strength.
- Accuracy & Resolution gives High-precision measurement, often ±0.5% or better. Resolution as fine as 0.001 mm in digital extensometers.
- Contact type (mechanical or clip-on) attached directly to the specimen.
- Extensometer for UTM Machine is designed to integrate with UTM software and control systems, automatically recording strain vs. load data. It is constructed from lightweight, rigid materials like aluminum Resistant to corrosion, temperature fluctuations, and vibration.
- The machine is Calibrated according to ISO 9513 or ASTM E83 standards for precision measurement. Some models are temperature-compensated or waterproof for testing under special conditions (e.g., environmental chambers, high-temperature furnaces).
- Quick clamping and release mechanism. Designed to minimize influence on the test specimen.

Extensometer for UTM Machine:
An Extensometer used with a UTM (Universal Testing Machine) in a laboratory is a device that measures the change in length (strain) of a material specimen when it is subjected to tension or compression. An Extensometer is an instrument that accurately measures the small extensions (elongation) or contractions that occur in a specimen during a tensile test (or sometimes compressive test).
Features of Extensometer for UTM Machine:
Advantages of Extensometer for UTM Machine:
Extensometer for UTM Machine reduces human error. Manual measurement using scale or displacement readings can introduce errors. Extensometers automatically and continuously record strain, minimizing human error.
Extensometers provide live strain readings during the test. This allows for real-time plotting of load vs. strain graphs on the UTM software. For accurate calculation of Elastic Modulus (E), strain must be measured precisely in the elastic region which an extensometer does better than the UTM’s crosshead movement.
Extensometers provide consistent and repeatable strain readings, improving the reliability of multiple tests on similar specimens.
We supply Long travel extensometers for plastic and rubber testing. And Clip ON type extensometers for metal testing.
Extensometers in UTM (Universal Testing Machine) application Industries:
HOT TENSILE TEST MACHINE-
A digital tensile tester is fitted with a high temp. furnace and control panel to test samples at elevated temp. Max. working temp. will be 960 degree centigrade. With an accuracy of +/-3 degree centigrade. A complete temp. range from 250 to 960 degree centigrade is covered.
The furnace will be a three zone, split furnace. The sample will be fitted on machine in such a way that it remains in the heating zone of the furnace. After completing the soaking time, the load is applied on UTM with slow strain rate facility. (The UTM can run at a speed of 0.01mm/min. )
